Code blocks and math

Cards aren't limited to text and pictures. The Card Editor has first-class support for code and mathematical notation — and both render exactly the same on your Mac and your iPhone.

Code blocks

Add a code block from the toolbar (click the code button, then click where you want it on the card), from the canvas right-click menu, or with Cmd + Option + C. Pick a language from the dropdown and your code gets syntax highlighting — over a dozen popular languages are supported.

Code blocks are great for "what does this print?" drills, API signatures, config snippets, and one-card-per-function codebase tours.

Block math

Add a math block the same way (toolbar, right-click menu, or Cmd + Shift + M). Write standard LaTeX with a live preview, and SuperCards renders it as a crisp vector image that looks identical in the editor, in preview thumbnails, and in Study Mode on your iPhone. No screenshots of equations, no approximations.

A note on AI-generated decks

Decks created by AI assistants through the SuperCards Exchange Format can include code blocks today, but not math blocks yet — math support in SEF is planned. You can always add math to an imported card yourself in the Card Editor.
